For those of you looking for a AST / Austin / Gateway - EdgeCD Series battery, I can offer these words: Austin charges far too much for their batteries, and in general you can get a way better deal when you buy from a third party vendor. Recently we looked at pricing and found a brand new AST / Austin / Gateway - EdgeCD Series for only $87.76 at Batteries.com. The same battery is normally $142.61, but recently the price has dropped. Batteries.com ships pretty fast (my order from them awhile ago and got my order in about a week). It also includes a 2 Year Free Replacement warrantee!

Something else you can try is searching on Craigslist or Kijiji (links open in a new window). Craigslist can be hit and miss, and so can Kijiji so don’t get ripped off when you shop online.
